PLATE 02 — The 7.60 in four numbers

Seven metres sixty,
read at sea

The numbers of a RIB make sense once you step aboard: 7.60 metres mean two people lying in the bow and six at lunch in the stern; a capacity of 15 people means a whole day with the family and friends; 350 hp of maximum power means the 7.60 never asks the engine for more than it can give. These are the figures from the yard's data sheet, the same ones you find in the technical table further down.

PLATE 04 — How it is made · shipyard vision

Fourteen parts,
one boat

Shipyard vision of the complete NAVY 7.60 seen from above at three-quarters: grey tubes with NAVY 7.60 lettering, teak-effect deck, console, helm unit, aft sofa and roll bar
  1. First, the line

    Length 7.60 m · beam 2.89 m

The 7.60 begins with three lines: the deep-V hull, the run of the 52 cm tubes, the helm position in the middle. The moulds are designed by Italian engineers and designers.

  2. The inner liner

Fibreglass · increased thicknesses · marine gelcoat

The inner fibreglass deck shapes the lockers, seats and walkways and stiffens the hull. White or black, like the hull, with the marine gelcoat that protects it from sun and salt.

  3. The ORCA tubes

    Pennel & Flipo · Hypalon-neoprene · 1.3 mm

1.3 mm fabric, cut, glued with two-part adhesives and hand-welded twice or three times at the critical joints. Every tube passes a pressure test before it goes onto the hull.

  4. The teak-effect decking

    EVA synthetic teak · stain-resistant · non-slip

The EVA foam deck comes as standard, in 24 shades: warm underfoot, cool in the sun, non-slip even when wet. Those who want solid natural teak find it among the options.

  5. The stern platforms

Two platforms · folding ladder · standard

Two steps over the water on either side of the outboard, with the folding ladder in between: this is where you go down for a swim and where you climb back up unaided.

  6. The bow: cone and anchor

Stainless bow roller · anchor · windlass on request

The cone closes the run of the tubes; the polished steel bow roller guides the chain overboard. The electric windlass with anchor and chain is on the list among the options.

  7. The console

Central console · full instrumentation · standard

In the middle, with a free passage on both sides. Windscreen, wheel, gauges and switches within reach: it is the central console with full instrumentation.

  8. The helm unit

Helm seat with grab rail and retractable table

Behind the helm: the seat, the stainless grab rail and the retractable table that opens onto the sofa. It is the piece that turns the stern into a dining room.

  9. The sofa and the sun pad

Full cushion set · Standard line as standard

A U-shaped sofa aft, a real sun pad forward. The Standard upholstery in smooth marine leatherette comes as standard; the diamond-quilted Luxury line you see here is an option. You choose the colour.

  10. The cushions that extend the bow

Extra cushion · console front seat

With the extra sun pad cushions the bow becomes a bed in the sun; in front of the console, the seat for two with the logo on the backrest.

  11. The stainless steel

Grab rails · pop-up cleats · stainless handrails

Wherever a safe hand is needed there is mirror-polished steel, never a sharp edge: the handrail of the helm unit, the grab rails of the sofa, the cleats that disappear into the fibreglass.

  12. The ladder

Folding · stainless steel · in the platform

It disappears into the platform under way and drops into the water when you stop. You climb back with one foot, even with fins in your hand.

  13. The roll bar

Fibreglass roll bar with navigation lights

The last piece: it carries the navigation lights and holds the bimini. Fibreglass, white or black like the hull, with the flag on top in the real photographs.

  14. It is a NAVY 7.60. Only the sea is missing.

PLATE 05

The NAVY 7.60 in a few words

A RIB
born big

The NAVY 7.60 is the 7.60 m rigid inflatable boat by Naviglia Yachts: hull, deck, stern platforms and console in fibreglass with increased thicknesses, white or black; tubes in ORCA fabric by Pennel & Flipo, 1.3 mm Hypalon-neoprene, 52 cm in diameter; 15 people of capacity in design category C. It takes a single outboard up to 350 hp, Honda, Yamaha or Mercury, or twin engines; we recommend 200 or 250 hp, which is also the power of the 7.60 we use for sea trials.

It is the size for those who go out with the whole family and do not want to choose between swimming from the bow and lunch in the stern: the deck of the 7.60 has both rooms, the sun pad in front of the console and the U-shaped lounge behind the helm unit, with the table that opens up. Below, 280 litres of fuel so you stop counting the miles. On the list it is from €33,000 + VAT · engine not included. Construction is to order, about 3 months from confirmation, and every 7.60 leaves with the colours and the equipment decided by the person who will use it.

Chapter 01 — The hull

A V that cuts,
rather than slams

Fibreglass · increased thicknesses · white or black

Seen from below, the bow of the 7.60 tells you how the hull is made: a deep-V hull, with the longitudinal spray rails that act as tracks in the water, and the gloss black fibreglass rising to the rubbing strake. It is laid up by hand or by infusion in moulds designed by Italian engineers and designers, with increased thicknesses and a marine gelcoat that keeps its gloss against sun, salt and scuffing.

At sea it means one thing: the wave opens instead of slamming. You feel it in your back when the wind gets up in the afternoon, and you feel it in the silence of planing. The hull comes in white or black: the photograph shows the anthracite boat, while the 7.60 you see at sea on this page is white.

Chapter 02 — The tubes

One point three millimetres
of ORCA fabric

ORCA Pennel & Flipo · Hypalon-neoprene · 1.3 mm · Ø 52 cm

The tubes are the heart of a RIB, and on the 7.60 they are made of 1.3 mm ORCA fabric by Pennel & Flipo: Hypalon-neoprene on a polyester core, with a tensile strength of over 500 daN per 5 cm. The outer CSM layer withstands sun, abrasion, fuels and temperature swings; the inner neoprene layers hold air and water. The 52 cm diameter is the reserve of buoyancy you feel when the boat is loaded.

Every tube is cut, glued with two-part adhesives, hand-welded with double or triple welds at the critical joints and pressure-tested before it goes onto the hull. The 7.60 NAVY lettering is raised, not glued on. The standard colours are Pietra Bianca, Notte Profonda and Blu Navy; the other 26 of the ORCA sample book are ordered together with the boat.

Chapter 03 — The deck

The decking that asks
for no maintenance

EVA foam teak · stain-resistant · non-slip · 24 shades

As standard the 7.60 has a teak-effect EVA foam deck: light, soft under bare feet, non-slip even when wet and with no oiling, sanding or treatments. Rinse it and it is as it was. The planks with their contrasting seam follow the geometry of the boat: the foredeck with the windlass, the side steps, the side decks and the two stern platforms. You choose from 24 shades, from light teak with a black seam to the greys and the patterns.

Under the bow sun pad two lockers open up for fenders and lines, and the foredeck houses the seat of the windlass. Those who want real wood can ask for a solid natural teak deck, on the list among the options: warmer, heavier, and to be looked after as it deserves.

Chapter 04 — The console

In the middle,
with everything within reach

Central console · gauges · windscreen · helm seat with grab rail and retractable table

The console of the 7.60 comes as standard, with full instrumentation: a spoked stainless wheel with knob, gauges and switches on the dashboard, a windscreen in front. It sits in the middle of the boat, so you walk from bow to stern on both sides without stepping over anyone. Behind it, the helm seat with the stainless grab rail and the retractable table, also standard.

With the recommended powers, 200 or 250 hp, the hydraulic steering with all-stainless wheel is the first option we recommend: the boat turns with two fingers even at full speed. The dashboard electronics, plotter and VHF, are not included in the price because there is no right one for everybody: we choose it with you, at the quote, and you find it written item by item.

Chapter 05 — The sun pad and the upholstery

A bow
to lie down on

Standard upholstery as standard · Luxury diamond-effect line on request · 14 colours

The bow sun pad of the 7.60 is as big as a bed: two shaped cushions that follow the run of the tubes and reach the console, with the console front seat carrying the logo on its backrest. The full cushion set comes as standard in the Standard line, smooth marine leatherette treated against sun, salt water and mould: a sponge cleans it and it stays neat even after a whole summer.

The Luxury line, the one you see in the photographs, is diamond-quilted with heat-sealed stitching, stain- and mould-resistant, in 14 colours from Notte Profonda to Sole Fiorito: on the 7.60 it is an option. The list also offers the extra sun pad cushions, the extra aft cushions that turn the stern into a second sun pad, and the bow table.

Swim platforms with standard folding ladder · outboard not included in the price

The stern of the 7.60 seen dead astern, on open water: the outboard in the middle between the two teak-effect platforms, the folding ladder, the fibreglass roll bar with the navigation lights. In the photograph the engine is the Honda 250 of our sea-trial boat; on your 7.60 you can fit a single outboard up to 350 hp, Honda, Yamaha or Mercury, or 2 engines of 150 to 250 hp each.

The platforms are where the day happens: you go down for a swim, you climb back up the ladder, you sit with your feet in the water. From the list you can add the shower with its 60-litre tank, the underwater lights for the evening and the ski pole for water toys. The engine stays outside the list price: you choose it and we quote it together with the boat.

Chapter 07 — The aft lounge

The U-shaped sofa
and the table

U-shaped sofa · helm unit with retractable table · teak cup holders

Behind the helm seat begins the second room of the 7.60: the U-shaped sofa that wraps around the stern between the two platforms, the helm unit with the stainless grab rail and the three cup holders in its teak top, the retractable table that opens for lunch for six. The logo is embroidered on the backrest, stitch by stitch, and the diamond quilting keeps the cover firmly on the padding.

Those who spend the whole day at sea find on the list the galley with sink, gas hob and fridge, the courtesy lights for the evening and the sound system with 2 speakers, which become 6 with the «Party booster». Everything on request is in the list further down, with the price beside it.

Chapter 08 — The roll bar and the shade

Navigation lights
and a roof of canvas

Fibreglass roll bar with navigation lights · standard · bimini, T-top and hard top on request

The roll bar of the 7.60 is fibreglass, white or black like the hull, and carries the navigation lights and the anchor light as standard. It holds the bimini, which in the real photographs is folded above the console and in the yard is open on its stainless bows: it is the midday shade for the person at the wheel and for those sitting behind.

For those who want more shade, the list includes the stainless bimini, the stainless steel T-top with canvas and the fibreglass hard top. The full cover protects the boat at the mooring and in winter storage. These are choices made by looking at how and where you will use the boat: we talk them through at the quote.

PLATE 14 — The engines of the 7.60

One engine,
or two

On the 7.60 we recommend 200 or 250 hp: the boat planes early, burns the right amount and stays easy to handle in harbour. Those who want more go up to 350 hp with a single engine, or fit 2 outboards of 150 to 250 hp each. Honda, Yamaha and Mercury are the outboards we fit to the NAVY: you choose the make, we decide the power together, and we quote the engine with the boat, fitted and tested, so you have the final figure in front of you. The 7.60 can also be ordered without an engine.

The list price excludes the engine, which is chosen separately by power and make; the helm electronics are decided together too. If you already own an outboard, tell us: we assess it on the 7.60.

Life on board · real photographs and footage

What you
can touch

The clips in this section were shot on board the 7.60, not reconstructed: the seat in front of the console, the decking with the engraved logo, the embroidery on the upholstery, the sun pad. These are the things that get lost in photographs and stay in the memory when seen in person.

The seat
for those who look ahead

In front of the console, with your back to the windscreen, is the seat for two that closes the bow sun pad: the quilted backrest carries the embroidered Naviglia Yachts logo. It is the seat for those who want to watch the coast arrive, and at anchor it becomes the first cushion you sit on with wet feet.

The side deck

Engraved,
not glued on

The teak-effect side deck runs along the gloss black bulwark with the recessed courtesy light: at night it marks the way from stern to bow without dazzling. At the end of the tracking shot the logo with the compass rose appears, engraved in the decking. It is a detail you notice on the second day and never forget.

The embroidery

Stitch by stitch,
on the leatherette

On the Luxury line upholstery the mark is embroidered in burgundy on the cream leatherette, inside the diamond quilting. The heat-sealed stitching keeps the water out and holds the shape of the cushion season after season. You choose the colour of the leatherette from 14 samples: the embroidery stays.

Look at
the neighbours too

In the NAVY range the 7.60 sits between the 6.60 and the 9.50 Cabin. Those with a shorter berth or a tighter budget look one metre down; those who want to sleep on board move up to the cabin RIB: 9.80 metres overall, with the cabin, the berths and the separate heads. The 7.60 is also the NAVY we rent out, on the Costa Smeralda and on the Pontine coast: a day on board before buying it is worth more than a hundred photographs.

Questions about the 7.60

Frequently asked
questions

These are the questions we receive about the 7.60, with the answer we give in person: price, engine, licence, people, lead times, transport, colours and sea trial. One at a time: opening one closes the other.

How much does the NAVY 7.60 cost?

The NAVY 7.60 starts from €33,000 + VAT, engine not included: with 22% Italian VAT that is €40,260.00. Prices are net: they exclude VAT and the engine, which is chosen separately according to the use you have in mind. The price includes the 11 standard items in the standard colours; engine, electronics and options are added in the quote, item by item, so you have the final figure in front of you.

Which engine does the 7.60 need? One or two?

We recommend 200 or 250 hp: the boat planes early, burns the right amount and stays easy in harbour. The maximum with a single engine is 350 hp; alternatively the 7.60 takes 2 outboards of 150 to 250 hp each. Honda, Yamaha and Mercury are the outboards we fit to the NAVY: you choose the make and we quote the engine together with the boat, fitted and tested. The 7.60 can also be ordered without an engine, or with yours: we assess it on the model.

Do I need a boating licence for the 7.60?

With the recommended powers, yes. In Italy you may sail within 6 miles of the coast without a licence only if the engine does not exceed 30 kW (40.8 hp) and the engine-capacity limits set by law: a 7.60 with 200 or 250 hp is above that threshold, so a boating licence is required. If you are looking for a NAVY to drive without a licence, look at the 4.80, the 5.50 and the 6.00 with the 40 hp: we talk about it on the «no licence» page.

How many people does it carry and what category is it?

The NAVY 7.60 is certified for 15 people, in design category C: designed to sail in winds up to and including force 6 and significant wave heights up to and including 2 metres. The maximum number of people for a CE-marked boat is the one written on the builder's plate and in the owner's manual: on your 7.60 you find it there, together with the category.

How long does it take, and what warranty is there?

The 7.60 is built to order: about 3 months from order confirmation, because every boat is born with the colours and the equipment of the person who ordered it, one at a time, with no assembly line. When a 7.60 is in stock you find it on the dedicated page, with delivery within 7 working days of confirmation. On the NAVY we offer up to 15 years' warranty.

Can it go on a trailer? How does it get to my home?

The 7.60 is 2.89 metres wide, more than the 2.55 metre limit set by the Italian Highway Code for a vehicle with its load: on the road it falls under the rules for abnormal loads and needs the authorisation of the road authority. That is why we deliver it ourselves: to the harbour you tell us or straight to your home, with the cost of transport written in the quote. If you still want a trailer, it is on the list.

Which colours can I choose?

Tubes in 3 standard colours, Pietra Bianca, Notte Profonda and Blu Navy, plus 26 more from the ORCA sample book on request; fibreglass of hull, deck and console in white or black; teak-effect decking in 24 shades; Standard upholstery as standard and the quilted Luxury line in 14 colours on request. The catalogue proposes 8 combinations already worked out; in the colours section of this page you can try them all and compose your own, and the codes arrive in the quote.

Can I try it at sea before buying it?

Yes: the 7.60 is precisely the NAVY we use for sea trials, powered by a Honda 250. First you look at it in person, then you take the wheel: how the hull enters the wave and how the boat turns is judged with your hands on the wheel, not from a photograph. Book the visit or the sea trial from the buttons on this page, or write to us on WhatsApp: we set the day together. If you are far away, we start with a video call.
